R.I.P Stat.
Man, what a blow…. I haven’t seen Steve in over 3 years, and we lost touch, and I’m sad to hear the news today that he passed.. I read it on CL and kind of found myself trying to scramble to find his number or his cousins…[my luck its in the phone that T broke….]
God Bless… I’m not really one to talk about the greatness of people when they pass.. but I can honestly say that Stat was a real stand up dude.. I met Stat while I was a waitress at Gladys Knights about 5 years ago [yes… humble beginnings] and for the longest I never knew him as the guy that produced and wrote my favorite song on Aaliyahs last album.. or that he was part of the 90’s group Playa that had my all time fave song “Cheers 2 U” that is STILL A CLASSIC and r&b needs to get back to this…
Sigh… the last time I kicked it with Stat and J was at the Kentucky Derby back in 2004 ….. anyways.. God Bless.. Life is too short.
