I went to San Francisco on Friday to visit my family and to pick up a few items from Huf. Shortly after arriving at the Sutter store I was kinda finagled into attending a Kid Sister show by Don Poppa and Eugene. And now it is late Saturday night and I’m still here…

This starts off with me meeting up with everyone at Eugene’s crib. When I get there everyone in the apartment (like 7 people) are rocking out to the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Maps” on Rock Band. I eventually partake in the festivities and get on the drums. I was awful. And then I got on the mic. You can imagine how that went. But it was really fun. I now want an XBOX 360 with Rock Band.

From there we head over to 1015 Folsom for this Kid Sister show only to find out that no one was there. Later (earlier today) we found out her flight was canceled. We were ridiculously packed in a Honda Cr-V, like 8 deep in a five seater. I rode in the trunk. From that light party we headed over to 111 Minna. That was craaaaaaaaaaaazy. 111 Minna is like a perfect mixed crowd. You get everyone from the business suits to thugs to hipsters to preps…there’s a little bit of every type of person in there. *Mind you this is like my 1st time going out in the Bay since I’ve been 21 (the other times were kinda a bust) so I’m having the time of my life.

After 111 Minna I don’t really remember what happened. I reveled. Apparently, I fell asleep in Lucky Penny waiting on a salad (that doesn’t even sound like me). I came back to crash at Eugene and Kahim’s crib. And that’s pretty much what I remember from that night. In the morning when I woke up I got recruited as a Huf employee for 2 hours as the door girl. It was my duty to only let 3 people in at a time. (Huf released new fitteds today) When we showed up to open there was already a line of at least 20. Yes. People stood in line for fitted caps. Did I mention that it has been raining all day today? Well, it has. And it was raining when folks were in line. One guy bought 20, $1100 (+/-) for fitteds. As Kei would say, “He’s wylin.” Evidence:

There were also many innocent bystanders around that wanted to come in the store just because they saw the line. I couldn’t let them in either.

After my door girl duties I had plans on leaving to go home but somehow (Don Poppa) I was finagled into returning to the store. I left for a few hours to pick up my 21MC shirts from Yego.  I found myself back on Hayes before closing. Still could’ve gone home but decided to go to an art show at Stussy with the homies. The artwork was by couple Ferris Plock and Kelly Tunstall. The beer was foamy but free so can I really complain? Guess not.

And now I’m back at the homies’ crib updating my comeupkids blog. Sitting and talking with Don P and watching crappy sit-coms. Still kidnapped. Will I ever make it home? Find out in my next update.
