So I haven’t had an actual job in about 4 months. By job I mean one where I have to clock in, help customers, sale overpriced merchandise, do inventory or sit at a desk, send annoying e-mails, photocopy this, fax that etc., etc. I’m not going to sit here and necessarily complain about not having a conventional job because, let’s face it, conventional jobs were not made for women like me.  I’ve been gettin’ by just fine by hustling the most random jobs ever and, of course, PR. But that’s all I’ve been doing. Getting by. And barely at that.  Now things have gotten even harder with being in school again (all day might I add 9:25-5:45 twice a week, 5-7:30PM once a week) so hustling some jobs just aren’t as easy as they were 2 months ago. *SIDEBAR* Why is college just inconvenient for all parties involved in getting a job?

So I guess now, a conventional job would be needed just for convenience.  I know I probably wouldn’t be getting paid anywhere near my worth but at least I’d be getting paid every two weeks vs. not knowing exactly when I would get paid. Rent is magically paid on time every month and I don’t know how I pull that one off but I do. Ugh! I’m not trying to be a typical college student working a job COMPLETELY unrelated to my major just to get by. That’s not livin’ to me…that’s getting by and I see homeless people do that everyday. But, I may just have some random job somewhere being totally unappreciated because I don’t have a degree yet.  All I have is my high school diploma and no one respects high school graduates anymore. Anyway, by January 31st I’m going to have a job because being broke never was cute and unlike a lot of college students, I don’t have mommy and daddy to fall back on. On top of that I’ll still be hustlin’…gotta keep that street cred. [By street cred of course I’m referring to keeping myself credible in the PR world]
