I went to ‘This Is The A’ this past Thursday at Compound. Overall it was a really good event but I’ll probably never return to Compound because I’ll probably never be in a mood to spend my rent money on drinks again. And plus I like places with a wide selection of beer, not just Corona. Anyway, there was this guy that was just smiling and waving at me and because I’m a nice and friendly person I smiled and waved back. I didn’t immediately recognize him as knowing him, I just thought to myself, “Hmm, he has an uncanny resemblance to Jon B.” And if y’all know me, y’all know I’m a Jon B advocate. I still listen to Bonafide and Cool Relax today. (Note to self: start a “Where’d They Go?” section)
Before I leave, I see him again and this time he reaches out for a hug and asks me how I was doing and such. So at this point it’s very clear to me that I must have met this guy somewhere before but I couldn’t recall meeting anyone that looked like Jon B. This bothered me all night.

When I got home I had a conversation that went something like,

“How was tonight?”

“It was good. A lot of people were there. I think I was having a conversation with Jon B and he was acting like we met before but I don’t think I’ve ever met him. I mean, I’d remember that.”

“Well did he look young or old?”

“He looked pretty young, like 25/26ish.”

“That probably wasn’t Jon B. Jon B is old.”

And even though that should have been enough for me to leave it alone, I didn’t. I was hell bent on finding out if I had been talking to Jon B or not. I saw Fadia talking to him so I aimed her the next day and told her I had a really obscure question but… there was this dude she was talking to last night and the only description I could give was that he looked a lot like Jon B.

Her reply: LMAOOOOOOOOO. That’s Matt. msenna.com (Fadia posted about him a week ago).

She told me he gets that a lot. I had met him at the Plush .357 store opening a few weeks earlier but it was for a split second so I guess I didn’t register the resemblance then. my bad homie, we’ll do brunch or lunch or something like that. So if you see some guy in these ATL streets that looks like Jon B, it’s not him but CUK Msenna. Get familiar.
